Katy's Profile

Although I was born in England I spent most of my younger years growing up in the ‘Naki', so I truly feel like a kiwi even if my passport does not say so!
I went to school in Taranaki before spreading my wings and flying off to the UK to do my big OE which ended up lasting nine years.
I was based in London and Edinburgh most of the time before deciding to head back to the southern hemisphere. On my way ‘home' I spent four months travelling through Mexico, Honduras, Guatemala and Belize before spending a couple of months in Tasmania. I finally made my way up to sunny Queensland and settled in Brisbane for nearly a year. ‘Brizvegas' is where I met my wonderful partner Paul whom promptly followed me back to the land of the long white cloud in 2004. We have since been living in New Plymouth and finding our feet as parents to our fabulous 2 year old son Luke (and No 2 due in May 2008).
Luke was born at home in February 2006. I had a great first pregnancy and an amazing birth which left me in awe of the human body, the birthing process and completely empowered by the whole event. So much so I am now involved in the Active Birth group in New Plymouth and have had this great opportunity to have a hand in the launch of H2ohbaby and loving the chance to meet so many open minded birthing couples who want to snap up the chance to bring their little person in to the world in the most gentlest of ways.
