We believe that... all women should have the opportunity to have a positive birthing experience, being satisfied that everything possible was done to provide the best start for their baby and family/whanau.
We believe that... using water during an uncomplicated labour:
- Assists in creating a relaxed environment;
- Physically assists the mother to relax;
- Buys time for a natural labour to progress without unnecessary intervention.
We believe that... having access to a birthing pool should be an easy choice available for any birth plan. The pool should be;
- Affordable;
- Easy to set up/fill/enter and exit and empty;
- Able to be set up for the birth well before due date;
- Comfortable for both the labouring woman and any supporting people;
- Hygienic and strong enough to handle vigorous labours.
We believe that... the arrival of a new baby is just the beginning of a wonderful journey of play through life, with the focus going beyond birthing, visualising your little one splashing in the pool, chasing butterflies with the ‘strainer' or slippery sliding in bubbles on the ‘ground sheet'.
Birth is not always very complicated!!
In fact, it can be an emazingly full enjoyable
experience - embrace it!
